Born in Barbados and raised on the Cayman Islands, Kyffin is one of the most exciting young racers competing in the United States.
Kyffin began his racing career aged 9 in Barbados, scoring his first championship victory the very same year before going on to win in every season since. Considered and humble, Kyffin prefers to do his talking on the track with success through rock-solid consistency and clean driving.
After dominating the Caribbean and Floridian karting scenes, Kyffin took his first steps into single-seater racing in the FIA F4 United States Championship in 2020. He was comfortable behind the wheel immediately, scoring two podium finishes at his first car racing event, before going on to regularly feature as a series front-runner. Despite his relative inexperience, Kyffin went on to make his F3 debut in late 2020, scoring a Top-10 finish at the Circuit of the Americas.
2021 was Kyffin’s most successful season to date. Teaming up with renowned IndyCar veteran engineer Tim Neff and the TJ Speed Motorsports outfit, Kyffin dominated the FR Americas season beginning with a clean sweep of three wins in the opening round.
Only finishing outside of the top five twice, Kyffin proved to be a fast, consistent driver and almost secured the title with a round to spare, before scoring a further two wins at the Circuit of Americas in October. Alongside his championship title, Kyffin was presented with Honda’s engine manufacturer award for his exceptional performance, and 18 FIA Super License points.
In addition to his record-breaking season, Kyffin was chosen to participate in the HPD GT3 Academy program by Honda Performance Development, enhancing his skills for endurance racing opportunities in 2022.
Later that year, Kyffin was signed to a multi-year development role with NTT INDYCAR SERIES team Chip Ganassi Racing. Bought into the CGR family, Kyffin received driver mentorship, race strategy and engineering support for his No. 21 HMD Motorsports program, and worked closely with CGR across INDYCAR weekends to learn from the very best.
Kyffin announced a comprehensive program for 2023, competing in INDY NXT by Firestone, the Asian Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series in LMP2, and the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup in LMP2.
Returning to his winning ways, Simpson scored a stunning win in the opening ALMS race weekend in the 4H Dubai endurance event. He would go on to establish himself as one of the world’s most promising sportscar racing talents, winning the prestigious 12H of Sebring alongside INDYCAR star Scott McLaughlin and teammate John Farano in the Tower Motorsports LMP2. Kyffin capped off a brilliant season by wrapping up the European Le Mans Series teams’ and drivers’ championship titles with two wins and three podiums, alongside fellow CGR driver Alex Lynn and teammate James Allen.
Kyffin Simpson will achieve his dream of racing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES in 2024, racing alongside teammates Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, Marcus Armstrong and Linus Lundqvist as part of a five-car full season line-up.
